The Tarangire National Park, the sixth largest national park in Tanzania. One of Tanzania's 'secret' wildlife heavens packed with large populations of elephant, baobab trees and many other predators. This is a year-around park with the distinct seasons offering different experiences from dry to dusty seasons with animals clustered around shrinking water holes and the trickle of Tarangire River to the green season full of new born animals and chattering birds. The park is named after the Tarangire river. The Tarangire River flows all year round and it is an important life line for many of its residents especially in the dry months of the year. The river flows into Lake Burunge situated in the northwest of Tarangire National Park.

ARUSHA TOWN TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

0600hrs drive to Tarangire National park and it takes about one and a half hour to the main gate in the north. With your packed lunch explore one of Tanzania's 'secret' wildlife heavens packed with large populations of elephant, baobab trees, and predators. The ecosystem in Tarangire Park is balanced by a localized migration pattern. The most commonly seen birds include yellow collared lovebirds, red billed hornbills, southern ground hornbills, lilac breasted rollers, ostriches, and water birds just to name a few. Climate

Clothing

Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are also available at the hotels/lodges/camps.

Fitness Level

Healthy

Remember to take your Malaria medication and protect yourself from sun with sunscreen or safari hat. Yellow fever vaccination can be acquired at the airport upon your arrival
Heavy cloth are important for early morning activities during your safari

Domestic flights are available and can be booked upon client request and will depend on the distance.
